Operator and contact

The data controller for JapanGo is NaotoUrakawa, an individual operator in Japan. JapanGo is operated under the public brand Sterhell Labs.

Sterhell Labs is an operating brand, not a claim that the service is incorporated. Details of any representative required for a target country will be added before access is opened to that jurisdiction.

Regional availability

JapanGo is not offered to individuals located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom. The EEA comprises the European Union member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. This restriction is based on the location associated with the connection, not citizenship or nationality.

We use coarse country-location information supplied with a request by our hosting provider only to enforce this restriction and protect the service. JapanGo does not save that country signal or the visitor's network address in an application database. The hosting provider may still process ordinary security and access logs under its applicable policies.

Location controls are best-effort and can be wrong. If access is blocked in error, contact us through the channel above. If you are located in a restricted region, do not submit information through or use JapanGo's interactive tools.

Decision checks

When you run a check, your selected country, category, priority, and the item text you enter are sent to JapanGo's server. The public MVP evaluates them against reviewed rules and fixed translations; it does not send the check to OpenAI or another generative model and does not save the item text in an application database. Our hosting provider still processes technical request data, including network identifiers, to deliver and protect the service under its own service and security policies. Do not enter personal, confidential, or sensitive information.

Purposes, legal basis, and recipients

We process the minimum request information needed to return the check you ask for, protect the service from abuse, troubleshoot failures, and keep the service reliable. Where the GDPR applies, this processing relies on legitimate interests in providing and securing the user-requested service. JapanGo does not retain the request for advertising, profiling, or model training.

JapanGo's application does not create an application-database copy of your request. The hosting platform necessarily handles request data to return and protect the service and may retain operational logs under its applicable terms. JapanGo does not send the request to retailers or affiliate partners. Before access is opened to a jurisdiction that requires it, this notice will identify the applicable hosting provider, retention period or criteria, international transfer destination, and transfer safeguard.

When approved affiliate offers are active, the selected home country, category, interface language, and recommendation are used temporarily on JapanGo's server to select an eligible, clearly labeled option. The item text, purpose text, and manual prices are not used for that matching, are not included in the affiliate URL, and are not sent to the provider.

No product analytics storage

The public MVP does not store diagnosis events, feedback, calculator values, names, email addresses, account identifiers, session identifiers, or advertising identifiers in an application analytics database.

The hosting platform may retain operational security or access logs according to its own policies. JapanGo does not use those logs to create profiles, target advertising, or sell audience data.

Essential hosting security

JapanGo does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The Cloudflare-based hosting platform may set a strictly operational security cookie, such as __cf_bm, to distinguish automated abuse from ordinary traffic and protect the service. JapanGo does not use that cookie for product analytics, advertising, or cross-site profiling.

Content-maintenance records

JapanGo may keep operational records about its own reviewed sources—for example, a source URL, the time it was checked, the response status, and whether editorial review is due. These records are used to stop stale guidance and do not contain diagnosis text, network addresses, account data, or advertising identifiers.

Clearly labeled commercial links

If JapanGo activates an affiliate link, it is labeled near the link. Opening it takes you to an independent provider, which will process the request under its own privacy policy. JapanGo does not include your diagnosis text or manually entered prices in an affiliate link.

JapanGo does not store an application-database record of an affiliate click in the current public version. A future change to that practice will be described here before it is introduced.

Data that stays on the page

Values entered in the manual price calculator are calculated in your browser and are not sent to JapanGo's event database.

If you request a reference exchange rate, JapanGo sends only the source and target currency codes to the Frankfurter exchange-rate service. Your item text and manually entered price amounts are not sent to Frankfurter.
